Managing Principal
We plan for business owners in the years before they sell, when the tax outcome is still decided by choices that cost nothing to make early.

The practice
Stowe, Vermont.
Since 2008.
Entity structure, trust timing, who owns which shares — all cheap to arrange four years out and impossible to fix at the closing table. Most owners meet an adviser six weeks before signing, which is six weeks of options.
We work with owners of Vermont and upstate businesses from the day they start thinking about it. Sometimes that means four years of planning and one transaction. That is the job.
Six weeks before closing, we are no longer advisers. We are witnesses.
What we look for
Someday counts. Someday is exactly when the planning is cheapest.
Two years is workable. Four is better. Six weeks is a formality.
What the sale has to leave you with. We plan backwards from it.
Four years out — all of it
Six weeks out — what is left
